Salcombe, the heart of the South Hams. With the ria waters glistening in the sun, you could feel like you were somewhere in the Mediterranean. There is so much to do here be it a walk along the sandy beaches, or SUP along the shoreline. Take a boat and see the local coastline from another point of view. Whatever it is, it will be a delight.

On a not so sunny day, head to the shops, not just high street stores but local independents, and arguably one of the best bakeries around! There are plenty of eateries, and a more recent addition is the Salcombe Gin Distillery.

The primary school in located at the top of the town, and the church towards the town centre. Not too far away is Kingsbridge with a supermarket, cinema and farmers market.

There are beaches galore, and stunning coastal walks, including one up around Bolt Head which leads all the way round to Hope Cove, where you can stop at the Hope and Anchor for a well earned rest and your refreshment of choice.

Not too far away is the golf course at Thurlestone and the popular Burgh Island, made famous by the author Agatha Christie.
