Exeter City boasts an abundance of history and amenities. This impressive cathedral city enjoys a wealth of shops, cafes and bars both well-known high street and designer labels as well local independents in the popular Gandy Street. During the lead up to Christmas, on the cathedral green is the Christmas market full of local and European goodies.

During the summer months the place to go is beside the river at Haven Banks, a pizza at The Waterfront, or over to Samuel Jones for a pulled pork burger, and if you can get a seat outside in the sun, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better spot.

For the adventurous person, take a trip in to the underground passages which have fascinated many with stories of war and sieges, plague and pestilence. This is not for the faint hearted as some of the passages can be very narrow. For those who enjoy history but prefer to stay above ground the ruins in the centre look spectacular lit up at night.

The University is increasingly popular, and student accommodation in abundance can be found, providing greater income for the local economy.
